Abortion protests similar to civil rights movement

To the editor:

The rant in the July 24 paper regarding the “visual aids” of the anti-abortion activists was ill-informed. Those folks with the posters depicting what happens to those helpless, innocent pre-borns are really doing the Lord’s work. By letting people see the results of an abortion, they are teaching the public what it actually looks like — the unspeakable destruction of a human being.

In much the same way, the civil rights brutality was made nationally known through TV exposure, which brought an end to that crime. So too, they hope the nation will finally become aware of the horror of abortion. Those folks who spend hours on the sidewalk have much that they give to the women who decide not to abort: maternity clothes, baby clothes, numerous supplies, cribs, infant car seats, formula, etc., at absolutely no charge. They pay their rent and help with daily living expenses. They even bought a used car for one woman so she could drive to job.

There are several area churches who wholeheartedly assist in this way. We just ask that you come with an open heart.
