Man struck by truck while working on Martinsburg sewer-line replacement

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Martinsburg water department worker was treated at City Hospital and released after he was struck by a truck Friday morning at a work site, according to city officials and police.

The man's name was not released.

City Manager Mark Baldwin said the employee was working on a sewer-line replacement project near the intersection of Mall Drive and Winchester Avenue when the accident occurred.

The 7:43 a.m. incident involved a Ford F-150 truck, according to Martinsburg police Sgt. Scott Funkhouser.

Funkhouser said he did not believe the motorist was cited.
