Vehicle strikes door of parked car

HAGERSTOWN — A passing vehicle struck the open door of a car parked on Summit Avenue on Friday afternoon, Officer Plummer of the Hagerstown Police Department said.

The driver of the parked car suffered small cuts from broken glass, but there were no serious injuries, Plummer said.

The accident occured when the driver of the parked car opened the door as the second vehicle was coming down the street, Plumme said.

The vehicle that hit the car was able to be driven from the scene, but the parked car had to be towed.

Police responded to the accident at around 1:45 p.m. Friday, Plummer said.

A firetruck from Antietam Fire Company assisted at the scene.

Summit Avenue was closed at the Antietam Street intersection until the car was towed away at 2:10 p.m.
