This year's Landmarks contest might not be a walk in the park. But it might be like a stroll in the garden. A garden of clues, that is.

The Herald-Mail's 15th annual Landmarks contest is set in Funkstown this year, and all clues are plant related. Identify the answers to our 10 clues and you might win $300.

As in years past, this year's clues are closeup photos of buildings or structures. All clues are visible from public sidewalks or streets in the city of Funkstown (for boundaires, see map). Please do not trample on yards or other private property.

Participants must correctly identify all 10 buildings or structures as clearly and specifically as possible on the contest entry form. Note the address or location, and name of the building or structure on the numbered  entry blank.

Bear in mind that many of Funkstown's streets are divided into extensions of north and south or east and west. In case of a tie, there will be a drawing.

Because the weather for this year's contest is well-suitable for plants — some days, it's as hot and muggy as a greenhouse — dress appropriately for your search, and bring water. You can also find cool air and refreshment in the bars and restaurants on Baltimore Street.

All of the clues are pictured in this edition of Lifestyle. Clues are also available online at
