Two-vehicle accident cleared, I-70 west reopened before 6 p.m.

A rush-hour accident that backed up traffic on Interstate 70 west near Hagerstown for more than an hour late Friday afternoon was cleared and the road reopened before 6 p.m., according to a Washington County Emergency Services supervisor.

Traffic was slowed near the Md. 66 exit while emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred at about 4:30 p.m., a 911 supervisor said.

Further details about the crash were not immediately available from Maryland State Police.
