HAGERSTOWN — King Street will be closed to all traffic between Antietam and Baltimore streets beginning Monday at 7 a.m. as demolition continues on the former Washington County Hospital.

The street is expected to reopen to traffic by 6 p.m. Monday. The street closure also will occur Tuesday and Wednesday during the same hours.

A detour will be implemented to direct drivers around the work area using other streets. Drivers approaching the closure should expect to encounter barricades, detour signs and other traffic-control devices.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the work area while the closures are in effect.
