The Washington County liquor board Wednesday agreed to allow the Eagles Club at 18 N. Locust St. in Hagerstown to establish pool teams.
Board Chairman Robert L. Everhart told Eagles trustee Jeffrey Knepper during a hearing before the Board of License Commissioners for Washington County in Hagerstown that the request would be granted as long as Eagles would continue to be operated as a club and not a "pool hall."
Knepper said club members also would like to play horseshoes in a lot that abuts Eagles.
Everhart said the liquor board didn't have the authority to approve horseshoe playing outdoors, but the area would have to be enclosed before members could consume alcohol in the lot.
