Judith Boggs Mackert, 73, of The Villages, Fla., died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Cornerstone Hospice.

Mrs. Mackert was born in Belle, W.Va., the daughter of James A. Boggs and Ressie Snyder Boggs.

She spent most of her childhood in Gassaway, W.Va., where she graduated from high school in 1955. She moved to The Villages in 2007 from The Woods Resort in Hedgesville, W.Va.

She is a former member of Fountain Head Country Club in Hagerstown, Md. She is a graduate of Richmond Professional Institute with a degree in fashion design.

She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and is the former owner of Lena Darner Brides in Hagerstown.

She enjoyed golf, landscaping and her Shih Tzu puppy, Chu Chu.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles, also of The Villages; daughter, Tenney Bartenfelder of White Hall, Md.; son, Edward E. Tanguy of Bend, Ore.; brother, James A. Boggs of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lappans, Md., with the Rev. Anne Weatherholt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark's Episcopal Church cemetery, Lappans.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.
