WILLIAMSPORT — Work on the Md. 63 (Greencastle Pike) bridge over the CSX Railroad near Williamsport is still scheduled to be completed on time, Jack Rowland, foreman for Concrete General, said Tuesday.

Workers are now encasing columns and piers underneath the bridge, Rowland said. After that, the deck will be worked on, and the bridge will have to be milled and paved. The final touch will involve work on the guardrail.

The Md. 63 bridge has been closed since late June. It is expected to open in late August.

Concrete General was contracted to work on the project, which costs around $1.3 million, according to a published report in June.
