Hagerstown Community College

The second group of students completing the dental-assisting program at Hagerstown Community College were honored at a June 30 ceremony. Following remarks from Theresa Marks, HCC instructor for dental assisting/hygiene, attendees heard from Angela Stoops, director, health sciences; Donna Rudy, dean of student affairs; Guy Altieri, HCC president; and keynote speaker Dr. Robert Steiner, an adjunct faculty member for the dental-assisting program.

Graduates included Allison Flynn of Boonsboro; Lori Spangler of Falling Waters, W.Va.; Lindy Witmer of Frederick, Md.; Shawna Hoffman and Shelby Myers, both of Greencastle, Pa.; Cassandra Aleshire, Anna Banca, Hannah Barton, Traci Cornwell, Sheidy Martinez, Paula Sandstoe, Amy Snyder and Jessica Whitt, all of Hagerstown; Jennifer Yeakle of Hancock; Shelby Smith of McConnellsburg, Pa.; Sonja Day of Mercersburg, Pa.; Chelsea Daniels of Smithsburg; and Sabrina Sparkman of Walkersville, Md. In addition, Martha Mendez of Hagerstown is expected to graduate in September.

An award was presented to Day, who was nominated by her fellow students as the most outstanding classmate in the program.
