HAGERSTOWN — The 75th reunion of the Hagerstown High School Class of 1936 was held June 25 at Fountain Head Country Club.

Of the 33 people in attendance, 16 were class members.

John W. Whitmore gave the invocation. After lunch, William P. Kreykenbohm took the class picture. His mother, Helen Zentmyer Kreykenbohm, gave a tribute to the class members who died this year — Elizabeth Beyard Adams, Evalene Bollinger Leaf, Ellen Hartle Dilworth, Doris Price Krouse, Helen Rohrer Smeak and Leane Sachs Wolber.

The class members then were interviewed to relate their memories of high school and beyond. A singalong led by John Whitmore included “School Days” and the “HHS Fight Song.”

Helen Zentmyer Kreykenbohm, the reunion chairwoman, thanked the reunion committee for its service to the class. Committee members are Merle Barlup, Norma Holzapfel, Henrietta Johnson Burns, Kathryn Mowrer Latimer, John Whitmore and Genevieve Wyant.

Kreykenbohm also thanked the family of Max Mogensen for providing the program booklets each year.

Marjorie Holzapfel Long presented Kreykenbohm with an engraved digital clock desk set in appreciation of her 14 years as reunion chairwoman.

The carnation centerpieces were awarded as door prizes. The benediction was given by Genevieve Wyant.

This was the last formal reunion of the Class of 1936.
