National Night Out

Invite your neighbors to "pack the park" for National Night Out on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., a fun event planned to heighten crime- and drug-prevention awareness.

The Pavilion 3 area of Byron Memorial Park will be filled with emergency vehicles, cruisers, fire marshal's office's bomb squad robot, Washington County Special Operations Team with trucks, and more.

There will be a rock-climbing wall, face painting, Dean Burkett's balloon figures, petting zoo, barrel train operated by the Washington County Antique Tractor Club, swimming at the Williamsport pool, and free food and drinks.

Unused and/or expired medications will be collected as part of a drug-return program.

Trip to Orioles game planned

There's still time to reserve a space for the trip to Camden Yards to see the Baltimore Orioles vs. the New York Yankees on Saturday, Aug. 27. Tickets cost $51 per person, and include bus fee and game ticket.

The bus will leave Billy Doub Field at 4:30 p.m.; game time is 7:05 p.m.

Autism Awareness fundraiser planned

PRAY, or Providing Relief for Autistic Youth Inc., and Uno Chicago Grill, 17734 Garland Groh Blvd. in Hagerstown, are planning an autism awareness fundraiser.

If you eat at Uno Chicago Grill between Aug. 1 and 3, and present a PRAY fundraiser coupon with your bill, a portion of your bill will be donated to support autism awareness in Western Maryland.

Harvest Hoedown

Planning for the 2011 Harvest Hoedown in Williamsport has begun and the coordinators are in need of vendors for the event.

Harvest Hoedown will be Saturday, Oct. 1, and is a fundraiser for the Williamsport Food Bank.

WHS Class of 1991 to hold reunion

The Williamsport High School Class of 1991 will hold its 20th reunion Saturday, Sept. 17.

There will be a family picnic at Martin L. "Marty" Snook Memorial Park, Pavilion 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Then enjoy a night out at Hard Times Café beginning at 6 p.m.
