Pvt. Christiaan Bush graduated April 29 from Army Basic and AIT Tank Training in Fort Knox, Ky.

Bush is stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga., in the 3rd Infantry Division Combined Arms Battalion.

Bush is the son of Amy Werner of Hagerstown and the grandson of Larry and Grace Bush of Hagerstown.



Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Chance M. Muller is a member of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit beginning a deployment in the Pacific region that will include a major exercise in Australia.

The exercise, called Talisman Sabre 2011, will allow Marines and sailors to work with partner military units from Australia to sharpen combat skills and exchange ideas and tactics.

The Okinawa, Japan-based Marine expeditionary unit is made up of more than 2,000 Marines and sailors, and conducts amphibious operations, as well as crisis response and contingency operations throughout the Pacific region.

Muller is an infantry team leader assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit at Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Japan. He has served in the military for three years.

Muller is the son of Tricia Muller of Sharpsburg. He is a 2007 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
