Sheetz store south of Hagerstown converting pumps to dispense diesel fuel

HAGERSTOWN — One set of fuel pumps at the Sheetz gas station and convenience store at the intersection of South Potomac Street (Md. 65) and Oak Ridge Drive south of Hagerstown is roped off.

Four of the eight pumps in that set are being converted to dispense both diesel fuel and gasoline, said Donald Coggins of Jones & Frank Petroleum Equipment Specialists, the firm contracted to work on the project.

In order to convert the pumps, Coggins said that underground kerosene line must be be replaced by a diesel line.

Eight of the 16 pumps at the gas station are still available for use. The store is still open.

Work on the project began Monday, July 11, and dshould be completed by Friday, July 29, Coggins said.
