Washington County Public Schools buses practice their arrival and departure from the new Ruth Ann Munroe Primary School Tuesday afternoon.

The bus route rehearsal for Eastern Elementary and Ruth Ann Monroe Primary schools went smoothly, Washington County Public Schools spokesman Richard Wright said.

Sixteen school buses were expected to participate in the practice run, Transportation Supervisor Barbara Scotto said.

When school starts next month, buses will need to drop off students at both Yale Drive schools in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon before heading through neighborhoods, Scotto said.

Some buses will run dual routes, meaning they will drop off all their student riders and then return to the schools to pick up more students to take home.

Monroe Primary will accommodate children in prekindergarten through second grade, while Eastern will have students in grades three through five.

Tuesday's was the second practice run for the drivers. Students were not involved.
