Burglary, thefts among incidents reported in Washington County

The following incidents were reported Monday and Tuesday by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office:

  • A burglary in the 5700 block of Tall Timber Lane.
  • Jewelry and a safe stolen in the 20800 block of Gapland Road.
  • Several vehicles spray painted on Business Parkway.
  • A person robbed in a home in the 17500 block of York Road.
  • A theft in the 3600 block of Chestnut Grove Road.
  • A theft in the 17100 block of Cole Road.
  • A theft from a vehicle in the 11600 block of Hopewell Road.

Franklin County Emergency Services report

The following incidents were reported Tuesday by Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services:

  • At 5:15 a.m., a traffic accident in the 400 block of Fayette Street in South Hampton Township.
  • At 6:34 a.m., a fire alarm in the first block of West Washington Street.

Waynesboro woman hurt in Sunday crash released from hospital

MERCERSBURG, Pa. — A Waynesboro, Pa., woman was released from York (Pa.) Hospital on Monday after suffering major injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Pa. 416 Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Kayla Leann Poper, 25, went home from York Hospital about 2:15 p.m. Monday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Poper was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram north on Pa. 416 in Peters Township when she failed to negotiate a turn, state police said.

The vehicle went off the road and struck a utility pole, state police said.

Poper was flown to York Hospital after the crash, which was reported at 3:30 p.m., state police said.



Hagerstown incidents reported

The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents, according to spokeswoman Barbara Pickett:

  • Theft of lawn equipment was reported in the 300 block of Fair Meadows Boulevard.
  • Theft of lawn equipment was reported in the 1800 block of Winston Drive.
  • An unregistered Dodge Neon was towed from the Gerbers Alley parking lot.
  • A theft was reported in the 300 block of Jefferson Street.
  • Domestic violence was reported in the 200 block of Frederick Street.
  • An unattended death was reported in the 50 block of East Washington Street.
  • A car crash with an injury occurred at Washington and Locust streets.
  • Damage to property was reported in the 300 block of North Locust Street.
  • Bicycles were found in the 400 block of West Antietam Street.
July 9
  • An assault was reported in the 600 block of Oak Hill Avenue.
  • An armed robbery was reported in the first block of Ross Street.
  • A disorderly conduct incident occurred in the 1000 block of Noland Drive. An arrest was made.
  • A stereo was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 30 block of Baltimore Street.
  • Money was reported stolen from the W House at 519  N. Locust Street.
  • A vehicle was reported scratched in the 900 block of Mulberry Avenue.
  • Damage to property was reported in the 600 block of Adams Avenue.
  • A purple Magna bicycle with white lettering and a pink and black Roadmaster bicycle were found at the Martins at 1729 Dual Highway.
  • An assault was reported in the 1000 block of Main Avenue.
  • Damage to a window was reported in the 100 block of Main Avenue.
  • A first- and second-degree assault were reported in Court 1 on Noland Drive. An arrest was made.
