Jean Daris Wright Paylor, 82, of Keener Road, Hagerstown, Md., passed away July 18, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born Dec. 1, 1928, in Reading, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Arthur R. and Laura Coleman Wright.

She was a 1946 graduate of Reading High School.

She retired from the Washington County Health Department. She previously worked at Fairchild.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Carl G. Paylor; a daughter, Joleen (Jodi) Ommert Spickler; three sisters, Louise Tatara of York, Pa., Sandra Wildoner of West Lawn, Pa., and Linda Winiarz of East Fallowfield, Pa.; two grandchildren, Derek Ommert and Ashley Ommert Sowers; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Ommert and Olivia Sowers.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha DaDamio; and a brother, Arthur R. Wright Jr.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, immediately followed by a memorial service at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD 21742.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Washington County Unit, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742; or to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 601 W. Washington Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

At her wishes, Jean’s body was donated to the Maryland Anatomy Board for the purpose of medical therapy, research and education.
