Hagerstown Lions Club board to meet Tuesday

The Hagerstown Lions Club will hold a board meeting Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Legion before the regular meeting.

Lions Club members are needed to help with parking at Ag Expo Wednesday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sign-up sheets will be available Tuesday.

                                                 
Jazz trio concert                                     

The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will present in concert a jazz trio consisting of Lydia Lewis, drums, Caleb Nei, piano, and Dan Zarcone, bass, Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

A reception hosted by members of the museum’s volunteer organization, the Singer Society, will follow the performance.  

Tickets cost $5 for non-members. Museum members and those younger than 12 will be admitted free.


SHHS class of 1959  

The South Hagerstown High School class of 1959 will hold its quarterly luncheon Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Always Ron’s Restaurant, 29 N. Burhans Blvd., Hagerstown.

The group will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the back meeting room. The group will order from the menu. All classmates, spouses and friends are invited.


Yard sale

The City of Hagerstown Parks and Recreation Division is accepting reservations for the Saturday, Aug. 13, community yard sale at Fairgrounds Park.

The fee is $15 per stall (tables are not provided). The yard sale will be held rain or shine.

Discovery Station

Titanic ship-building classes begin Saturday with Norm Little, master Titanic ship builder, teaching the class.

All materials will be furnished to build a 17-inch Titanic model. Classes are for five weeks. The five weeks can vary as students go on family vacations. The cost of $50 for the five sessions includes admission to the museum. Each student must be accompanied by an adult.

Music by the Lake

The Music by the Lake concert series continues Saturday with Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band performing at the Hagerstown City Park bandshell from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The concert is free.
