Interstate 70 ramp to close temporarily

July 18, 2011

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration will temporarily close the westbound Interstate 70 ramp to Md. 66 (Mapleville Road) on Tuesday. The temporary closure is part of SHA’s $3.7 million project to resurface I-70 between the Frederick County, Md., line and Md. 66 in Washington County.

The SHA will close the ramp from midnight to 6 a.m. Wednesday, weather-permitting. During the closure, motorists on westbound I-70 will be detoured to exit 32 (U.S. 40 — Dual Highway) to eastbound I-70 back to Md. 66.
