Man flown to Meritus with self-inflicted gunshot wound

A man was flown to Meritus Medical Center Monday to be treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Washington County Sheriff Douglas Mullendore said.

Mullendore said the incident happened at about 7:25 a.m. at a home on Wheeler Road, which is west of Boonsboro.

Further details, including the man’s condition, were not available.

Incendiary device causes porch fire in Smithsburg

SMITHSBURG - The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office said it was investigating a Molotov-type incendiary device that was put on the front porch of a home Monday at 31 S. Main St. in Smithsburg.

The owner of the home reported the incident at about 7:10 a.m., according to a fire marshal’s office press release. No damage was done to the home.

The Smithsburg Fire Department and Washington County Special Operations responded to the scene.

$532 in gasoline stolen from Antrim Township station

Pennsylvania State Police said someone pumped $532 worth of gas and left without paying at the Sunoco station at 705 Buchanan Trail in Antrim Township.

The incident occurred at about 1:45 a.m. Friday, according to a state police press release.

Quincy Township man says $900 stolen in house break-in

A Qunicy Township, Pa., man told Pennsylvania State Police that someone broke into his house Sunday and stole $900.

The incident occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at a home in the 6300 block of Nunnery Road, according to a state police press release.

Several items were stolen from a shed in the 2600 block of Taulton Lane.
Money and other items were stolen from a home in the 3500 block of Trego Mountain Road.
A laptop computer was stolen from a home in the first block of West Bishop Lane.
A lawn mower was stolen in the 11300 block of Sword Road.
A window screen was vandalized in the 17400 block of Apple Blossom Court.
A windshield was vandalized in the 100 block of Hump Road.
Money was stolen in the 13900 block of Tropicana Drive.
A purse was stolen in the 9400 block of Morning Walk Drive.
A laptop computer was stolen in the 19600 block of Longmeadow Road.
An antique squirrel fur coat was stolen in the 12800 block of Cathedral Avenue.
Tools were stolen in the 18900 block of Osage Drive.
Copper was stolen on Beagle Club Lane.
A vehicle key was stolen in the 14000 block of Village Mill Drive.
A Nintendo DS XL was stolen in the 1400 block of Howell Road.
A bicycle was stolen in the first block of West Maple Street.
A vehicle tag was removed from a 1994 Dodge van in the 17500 block of York Road.
A theft from a vehicle on Keep Tryst Road.
