FREDERICK, Md. — Sarah Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Johnston of Hagerstown, recently graduated cum laude from Hood College, where she was a member of the Honors Program, with a degree in English and certification in secondary education.

Johnston was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.

In April, Johnston was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, a national collegiate honor society for seniors who rank among the top 10 percent of their class.

During her academic career at Hood, Johnston also held membership in several other collegiate honor societies, including Mortar Board, Ionic Society, Kappa Delta Pi and Alpha Lambda Delta.

Johnston has been accepted to Hood College’s graduate school. She plans to begin the master’s of business administration program this fall.



Sally Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Johnston of Hagerstown, recently graduated from North Hagerstown High School and the Teaching Academy of Maryland.

Johnston was the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award and the Student Service Learning Excellence Award from Washington County Public Schools.

Johnston will attend Hood College, where she will be a member of the Honors Program and pursue a degree in early childhood/elementary education.
