Marie Annette Bettis, 41, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at her home.

Born Dec. 28, 1969, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of Maurice Dean and Patricia Ann Swaim Kesecker of Berkeley Springs.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She was a 1989 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and worked as a home health care provider.

Marie enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking, collecting country décor items and especially loved her dog, Caymee.

Marie was always there for many people and was loved by all. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter. She loved to have family and friends come to the house to spend time with everyone. She touched the heart of everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Westley Edward Bettis Sr., at home; two children, Matthew Scott Young of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Laken Elizabeth Young of Berkeley Springs; two stepchildren, Angela Kay Bettis and Westley Edward "Junior" Bettis II, both of Martinsburg; one brother, Leroy Allen Kesecker, and one sister, Vanessa Sue Gentile and her husband, David, all of Berkeley Springs; three nieces and nephews, Kelsey Dawn Kesecker, Levi Allen Kesecker and Austin David Gentile, all of Berkeley Springs; one stepgranddaughter, Katherine Breanna Bettis of Martinsburg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union St., Berkeley Springs. Interment will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Following her services, there will be a reception at the Pleasant View Community Center.
