HAGERSTOWN — Patsy Kline said she had been up since 7 a.m. Thursday holding a yard sale.

"We do this every year, sometimes twice a year," she said. "This has been going on for about 15 years."

Kline of Wolfsville, Md. and her parents, Clarence and Elsie Flook, are holding a three-day yard sale at the Flooks' home at 1546 National Pike, which is on Dual Highway between Mount Aetna Road and Edgewood Drive.

"I love doing this because we meet people from all over the United States," Kline said. "It's even more fun when we have beautiful weather like today."

Kline said she and her parents put together their yard sale by shopping for boxes of random products and then selling the products they do not want.

"We have some personal items, but we like to shop for sets of things and use the yard sale to get rid of what we don't want," she said.

Nancy Statler, the Flooks' next-door neighbor at 1536 National Pike, is holding a yard sale at the same time.

Although Statler has held yard sales before, she said this is the first time she decided to do it at the same time as her neighbors.

"They always have such success with their yard sale, so I figured I should get a couple of friends and we should have our own," Statler said.

Statler said she was primarily selling her own possessions.

"It's unbelievable how people are buying stuff I was just trying to get rid of," she said.

Kline and Statler said they will stay outside until it gets dark or when people stop showing up. Then they will hold the sale again Friday and Saturday.
