A Hagerstown man has been charged in connection with seven gunshots being fired from a .40-caliber handgun at a house on Broadfording Road on June 28, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Donnie Lee Basore, 34, of 715 Medway Road has been charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment, conspiracy to commit malicious destruction of property over $500, malicious destruction of property over $500 and having a handgun in a vehicle, said Cpl. Greg Alton, a spokesman for the sheriff's office.

Basore was taken into custody at his house and offered no resistance, Alton said.

Alton said there is also another suspect in the shooting. That man was found at Basore's home on July 12 with a .40-caliber handgun in his waistband that was listed as stolen by the Hagerstown Police Department, Alton said.

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant through the Martinsburg, W.Va., Police Department, Alton said.

The June 28 incident occurred when the house was hit with gunshots between 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., Alton said. The shooting stemmed from workplace issues where both Basore and the victim are employed, he said.
