Brooklyn man charged following foot chase in Martinsburg


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Brooklyn, N.Y., man who led police on a foot chase through part of Martinsburg, W.Va., Thursday morning was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and other counts, the Martinsburg Police Department said.

Timothy Rameek Williams, 21, of 2978 Avenue West, No. 5B, also was charged with obstructing an officer, resisting arrest, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and person prohibited from possessing firearm (habitual user of controlled substance), according to a police department press release.

Police said the incident began at about 1:45 a.m. in a parking lot near the intersection of Elijah Street and Fleming Alley, where officers found Williams and a female juvenile from Martinsburg sitting in a vehicle.

The vehicle was searched after police smelled marijuana, the release said. Officers allege Williams fled when they found a .22-caliber revolver.

Police said they found Williams hiding in the bed of a pickup truck.



Fugitive wanted in Washington County arrested in Martinsburg


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A fugitive who was wanted in Washington County for parole revocation was arrested early Thursday in Martinsburg, the Martinsburg Police Department said.

Wiley Mark Hill, age and address not provided, was charged as a fugitive from justice, according to a police department press release.

Police said they arrested Hill early Thursday morning after they received a tip that he was staying at a residence on East Moler Avenue.

Hill was wanted in Washington County for parole revocation stemming from a robbery charge, according to the release.



Falling Waters residents face drug charges in Md.


FREDERICK, Md. — Three Falling Waters, W.Va., residents were charged with drug violations following a traffic stop Wednesday in Frederick County, Md., Maryland State Police said.

Garey Barrick Jr. was charged with possession of heroin and marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to a state police press release.
Samantha Marie Eaton was charged with possession of heroin and marijuana.

Police said a 16-year-old boy who was in the car with Barrick and Eaton at the time of the stop was charged with marijuana possession.

Troopers said the incident occurred at about 4:50 p.m., when they stopped the Pontiac Grand Am that Barrick was driving for following another vehicle too closely on Interstate 70 near Lingamore Road.

Police said they called a K-9 unit to search the car after they noticed Eaton trying to conceal items in her pants.

The search turned u p a clear plastic baggie of a substance that police believed was marijuana, police alleged in the release said. Troopers allege they later recovered three small plastic bags containing suspected heroin and one plastic bag containing suspected marijuana.

Barrick and Eaton were taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, the release said.



Truck overturns on I-81 in Pa.


The following incident was reported Tuesday by Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services:

  • At 5:05 a.m., a truck overturned on an Interstate 81 exit ramp in Guilford Township.
