Hagerstown police investigating report of armed home invasion

HAGERSTOWN — The Hagerstown Police Department is investigating a report of an armed home invasion Wednesday morning in the 300 block of South Mont Valla Avenue, according to an HPD news release.

No one was injured, police said.

The two males living at the residence told police that they responded to a knock at the front door at about 1 a.m. When they opened the door, a black male carrying a knife entered the residence, followed by five other black males. All were wearing shirts over their faces, the release said.

The two residents were ordered into the kitchen and made to sit down. The intruders then gathered up various items in the residence before fleeing on foot, according to the release.
