Bike Nite set for Saturday

The fourth annual Williamsport Bike Nite will be Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Town Center.

Musical entertainment will be by guitar player Justin Parks and the band Freak Show.

There will be vendors and attendees can chat with bike builders, motorcycle clubs and organizations. There will also be a food court and a beer garden.  

The Blue Knights will hold a poker run. Registration starts at 2 p.m. in Byron Memorial Park. The first bikes will leave the park at 3 p.m.

River City Classic begins Saturday

Conococheague Little League will host the annual River City Classic at Byron Memorial Park, beginning Saturday and running through July 23. Enjoy the ballgames and food, including fried catfish sandwiches.

Library accepting books for book sale

Williamsport Memorial Library is accepting books for this year's book sale until the end of July. The month of August will be used to prepare for the sale, which is Aug. 26-28, in conjunction with Williamsport Days.

The organizers are seeking volunteers to help with the setup that same week and during the sale. Volunteers should look for the sign-up sheet at the front desk of the library.

The committee would like to thank those who have donated books for this year's sale.

WHS Class of 1957 to meet for dinner

The Williamsport High School Class of 1957 meets for dinner at the Golden Corral in Hagerstown on the third Monday of each month at 5 p.m.

The class will hold its annual picnic reunion Saturday, Sept. 18, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Pavilion 1 in Byron Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.

Senior bowling league now forming

Southside Senior Bowling League will resume the fall/winter duckpin bowling season Thursday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. at Southside Bowl.

Any seniors, 55 years or older, interested in joining the league can call Allen E. Swope at 301-223-9086 for details before July 28.

WHS Class of 1961 to hold reunion

It is not too late to make a reservation for the 50-year reunion for the Class of 1961 from Williamsport High School, to be held Saturday, July 23, at the Potomac Fish and Game Club, Falling Waters Road. Tickets cost $25 per person.

There will be a meet and greet Friday, July 22, at Western Sizzlin' Restaurant in Halfway, beginning at 6 p.m.

Church plans ice cream social, Bible school

Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, 17426 Virginia Ave., will hold an old-fashioned ice cream social Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring a friend and enjoy free ice cream, toppings and beverages. For more information, call Lisa at 301-582-4484.

Vacation Bible school will be held at Virginia Avenue Baptist Church beginning Monday and running through July 22, from 6 to 8 nightly. The theme is "Fun, Surf, Beach Bash."

Sessions are for those ages 3 to grade 6. Singing, crafts, games, snacks, worship and Bible lessons will be included.
