All-Star schedule bumped by rain

Four losers’ bracket games in the Maryland Little League Baseball District 1 11-12 Tournament were postponed by rain Friday evening.

All four games were rescheduled for this afternoon.

At 1 p.m., Maugansville will play at Sharpsburg and Hancock travels to Clear Spring. At 5, American hosts Halfway and West End plays at South Mountain.

The four games originally scheduled for today were pushed back to Sunday.

In the winners’ bracket, Valley will play at Federal and Conococheague travels to National. Both games are at 6.

The winners of today’s losers’ bracket games will square off in elimination games Sunday at 2.

Barring more postponements, the tournament will be back on schedule Monday. The championship round is scheduled for Thursday and, if necessary, Friday.

Spots remain for camp

The first Nick Adenhart Baseball Camp, scheduled for July 23, still has spots available.

The camp will be held at Williamsport High School and will be conducted by current and former high school and college coaches.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 12 and will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds from the camp will go to the Nick Adenhart Foundation. Brochures are available at Little League fields or by contacting Dave Warrenfeltz at 301-582-3233.
