MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — One woman was killed and three men were injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 340 south of Charles Town near the Virginia line, Citizens Fire Co. president Ron Fletcher said.

West Virginia State Police were investigating the wreck, which occurred near the Rainbow Diner & Truck Stop and Wheatland Road, said Fletcher, who responded to the crash scene at about 6:30 p.m.

The deceased was a passenger in an older model Toyota pickup, Fletcher said. The driver of the truck was flown to Winchester (Va.) Medical Center after being pulled from the vehicle by emergency responders, Fletcher said

Two men riding in a black, four-door Kia that was involved in the crash were taken by ambulance to Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va., according to Fletcher.

Joining Citizens Fire Co. at the scene were units from Independent Fire Co. in Ranson and Clarke County, Va., Fletcher said.
