Six arrested in W.Va. drug busts

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Martinsburg Police Department on Thursday announced the arrests of six people in connection with an ongoing drug investigation and said it still was looking for a seventh person.

Accordng to a news release, those charged were:
• Anne Marie Alston, 30, of 215 W. John St., Apt. C., Martinsburg
• D’Angelo Antoine Alston, 24, of 215 W. John St., Apt. C., Martinsburg
• Stephanie Michelle Caraballo, 38, of 86 Stadium Circle, Inwood, W.Va.
• Marsha Ann Deaner, 41, of 164 Lee St., Martinsburg
• Lawrence Hicks, 41, of 318 S. Church St., Martinsburg
• Raphael Zuniga, 26, currently incarcerated

Anne Alston and Stephanie Caraballo each were charged with one felony count of delivery of a controlled substance and the other defendants each were charged with two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance, the release states.

D’Angelo Alston also was charged with one count of conspiracy to deliver to a controlled substance, according to the news release.


The allegations stem from heroin and crack cocaine deals the defendants allegedly made with confidential informants over the past three months, police said.

Arrest warrants issued for the defendants charge them with a total of 11 felony counts, according to police.

All of the individuals were arraigned by Magistrate Harry L. Snow after they were arrested without incident, according to police.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, West Virginia State Police, Charles Town Police Department and probation officials assisted the Martinsburg Police with apprehending the defendants, police said.

Aside from those arrested, police have asked for assistance in locating Dwayne Rodgers, 38, in association with the investigation.
