July 07, 2011

HAGERSTOWN — A Babies “R” Us has been added to the Toys “R” Us store near Valley Mall, which will celebrate a grand reopening today through Sunday, Toys “R” Us Inc. said in a press release.

The store, at 1730 Valley Mall Road, underwent a major renovation and redesign as part of the company’s ongoing strategy to bring the Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us brands together under one roof in a side-by-side format, the press release said.

Babies “R” Us sells a broad assortment of baby products such as cribs and other furniture, high chairs, strollers, car seats and baby monitors. The store’s guest services include a Mother’s Room for baby care, a special orders department and parking for parents-to-be.

The store remodeling project included several features aimed at conserving energy and reducing the store’s impact on the environment, the press release said. The new features include an energy management system, energy efficient lighting in the outdoor signs, more efficient restroom features, a cardboard baler to facilitate recycling, Low Volatile Organic Compound paint and floor adhesive, and a vestibule entryway.

The grand reopening will feature savings, giveaways, kid-friendly activities and visits from popular costumed characters, the press release said.
