Girl Scout Council to offer camp

July 06, 2011|Darylene Mowen | Around Smithsburg & Robinwood

Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital will sponsor a community based camp July 18 to 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp is for girls who are not members of Girl Scouts.

The camp will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville. Bus transportation will be provided from a few locations. Registration is required.

The camp is designed to reach girls who have previously not had the opportunity to experience the Girl Scout program. Participants will be invited to join a traditional troop in the fall. However, the camp experience might be the only Girl Scout experience for many girls.

Several openings still exist for the camp.

For more information, call Mrs. Smoot at 301-662-5106 or email dsmoot@gscnc.org.
