Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary awards scholarship

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Chambersburg Area Hospital Auxiliary recently held its membership meeting at Mario's Restaurant on Wayne Avenue in Chambersburg.

A memorial service was conducted by Esther Wagner for members who died in the last year.

Installation of officers was held. Andrew Skupnick was installed as president; Mona Etter was installed as vice president; Diane Kirkpatrick as secretary; and Shirley Ringer and Louise Kennedy as treasurers.

Scholarships were awarded to three high school seniors and two adults.

Dominique Perry from Chambersburg Area Senior High School received an auxiliary scholarship for $1,750. She will attend Penn State Mont Alto in the nursing curriculum.

Casey Hedrick from James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg, Pa., received a $1,750 scholarship funded by the "Million Penny Drive." He will attend  Lock Haven University in the health and physical education program.

Susan Engle from Chambersburg Area Senior High School received a $1,250 auxiliary scholarship. She will attend the University of Pittsburgh, where she will pursue a nursing degree.

Scholarships for adults were presented to Cari Cline and Melinda Young.

Cline, who will graduate from the pharmacy school of the University of Pittsburgh in 2013, received a $1,750 scholarship.

Young, enrolled at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center in the practical nursing program, received a $1,250 scholarship.
