SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — A Waynesboro, Pa., man was killed and two Chambersburg, Pa., residents were flown to a hospital following a two-vehicle accident Friday night on Olde Scotland Road in Southampton Township, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said.

John A. Miller, 43, of Waynesboro, died when the 1986 Toyota Supra that he was driving north on Olde Scotland Road crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2007 Honda Accord, according to a state police press release.

The driver of the Honda, Jerry Gipe, 61, of Chambersburg, and his passenger, Linda Gipe, 60, also of Chambersburg, were flown to York (Pa.) Hospital, troopers said.

Jerry Gipe was listed in serious condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Saturday. Linda Gipe was listed in fair condition, she said.

The accident, which closed the road for about three hours, occurred around 10:45 p.m. about a quarter-mile south of Seibert Avenue, troopers said.

Shippensburg Fire and EMS and the Franklin County coroner assisted at the scene, troopers said.
