Marie Irvin, 93, of Clear Spring, Md., went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born Tuesday, Aug. 14, 1917, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Harry Rowland Miller and the late Bertha (Moon) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Edgar Irvin, in 2008.

Marie was a lifelong member of the Blairs Valley Apostolic Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Elizabeth Hose and husband, Alfred, of Maugansville, Md., and Rebecca Ruth Murray and husband, Lewis, of Clear Spring; two sons, Walter David Irvin Sr. and wife, Grace, of Clear Spring, and John Michael Irvin and wife, Robin, also of Clear Spring; six grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; 11 great grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Marie Irvin; sisters, Rachel Shoemaker, Mildred Bowers, Betty Irvin and Beulah Irvin; and one brother, Lester Miller.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at the Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, with Pastor Scott Hose officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 4, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Interment will be in the Blairs Valley Cemetery.
