Motorcyclist injured in accident on Mason Dixon Road

STATE LINE, Pa. — One person was injured in a motorcycle accident on Mason Dixon Road (Pa. 163) near the Maryland state line Thursday morning, Trooper Hunter of the Pennsylvania State Police said.

The accident happened just past the exit ramp coming from southbound Interstate 81.

Police responded to the incident at 6:49 a.m., a supervisor for Washington County Emergency Services said.

Traffic was initially down to only one lane near the accident scene, but the lane reopened after the scene was cleared at 7:27 a.m.

The motorcyclist was transported to Meritus Medical Center, Hunter said.

In addition to the Pennsylvania State Police, fire trucks from the Maugansville Fire Co. and the Greencastle Fire Department were on the scene.
