River City Barnfest offers entertainment

The first of this summer’s weekend extravaganzas kicks off Friday with River City Barnfest at Springfield Farm Barn. Enjoy some of the best country rock and bluegrass music starting Friday from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.

Cost is $20 per person for a one-day pass; $30 per person for a two-day pass; and $40 per person for a three-day pass.

Those younger than 12 will be admitted free with a paying adult.

First Friday cruise-ins continue in Williamsport

Come on down to Town Center for the antique car cruise-in Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the first block of Conococheague Street.

Back by popular demand is Teddy Miller’s T&T Rocking Entertainment with his Elvis Tribute Show.

Classic cars should enter from Salisbury Street.

A donation of $3 per car is requested.

Fourth of July celebration a family tradition

Bring the entire family to Byron Memorial Park on Monday for the annual Fourth of July celebration. Come early and pick out your favorite spot for all the festivities.

Concerts begin at 1 p.m. and continue throughout the afternoon with entertainment from Henri Verdel, Dogfoot and Mayweather.

The annual patriotic concert by the Williamsport Community Band begins at 7:30 p.m., followed by the fireworks display at dusk.

The Williamsport Fire and Emergency Medical Services will sell pit beef sandwiches, along with other picnic favorites including ice cream, beginning at 11 a.m.

Pool plans special hours for big holiday weekend

Concertgoers can cool off at the Williamsport swimming pool, which will have special evening hours for this event-filled holiday weekend.

Friday through Sunday for the barnfest event, the pool will be open from noon to 10 p.m. On Monday, the pool will be open from noon to 7 p.m.

This marks one of the few times that the pool has been open to the public for evening hours. Regular pool admission prices will apply.
