June 28, 2011

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Waynesboro Hospital was ranked among the top 10 percent of the nation’s hospitals for providing an outstanding experience for patients, according to a report available at www.healthgrades.com.

Waynesboro Hospital was one of 339 hospitals in the country recognized in the report. Only eight hospitals in Pennsylvania made the list, according to a news release from Summit Health, which owns Waynesboro and Chambersburg (Pa.) hospitals.

According to the report, patient satisfaction scores for 3,797 U.S. hospitals were used. Researchers used Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) hospital survey data available from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

“We are Waynesboro’s hometown hospital and we take great pride in providing excellent care to our community,” said Ken Shur, vice president and chief operating officer of Waynesboro Hospital.
