HAGERSTOWN — The eastbound lane of West Antietam Street in Hagerstown is closed between Burhans Boulevard and Walnut Street.

Columbia Gas is replacing a gas main on that block of West Antietam Street, according to a press release from the city of Hagerstown. The project requires excavation in the eastbound lane of the street.

A detour has been set up for traffic heading in that direction.

Traffic heading westbound on West Antietam Street should not encounter any problems during the project, according to the release.

The project began at 7 a.m. Monday and will continue until Friday, July 8. Work is expected to be finished each day by 5 p.m.
