Area students receive scholarships from Frostburg State University

FROSTBURG, Md. — Frostburg State University announces the following area students have received scholarships for study at the university:

Danielle Anderson of Brunswick, Md., received the University Scholarship. Anderson is the daughter of Yvonne and Daniel Buck and John Anderson and attended Brunswick High School.

Hannah Blankenbeckler of New Market, Md., received the University Scholarship. Blankenbeckler is the daughter of Kim and Rob Cowles and attended Linganore High School.

Heidi Boyd of Boonsboro received the Academic Excellence Scholarship. Boyd attended Boonsboro High School.

Whitley Burns of Sharpsburg received the Academic Distinction Scholarship. Burns is the daughter of Barry and Robin Burns and attended Boonsboro High School.

Alisha Commer of Clear Spring received the Dr. Leroy L. Kohler Outstanding Junior/Senior Sociology Scholarship. Commer is the daughter of Gene and Lisa Commer and attended Clear Spring High School.

Melanie Ebersole of Big Cove Tannery, Pa., received the Woodward and Virginia Pealer Scholarship and Anne E. and William B. Wallace Jr. Scholarship. Ebersole attended Smithsburg High School.

Josefa Febus of Hagerstown received the Foreign Language Redick Spanish Scholarship. Febus is the daughter of Joanna Cross and attended North Hagerstown High School.

Carla Flessner of Williamsport received the Alma Logsdon Scholarship and Academic Excellence Scholarship. Flessner is the daughter of Stephen and Maryann Flessner and attended Washington County Technical High School.

Samantha Kretzer of Smithsburg received the University Scholarship. Kretzer is the daughter of Steve and Jenny Kretzer and attended Smithsburg High School.

Gabriel Maher of Frederick, Md., received the Academic Honor Scholarship. Maher is the daughter of Michael and Brenda Maher and attended Frederick High School.

Michael Martin of New Market, Md., received the Academic Excellence Scholarship. Martin is the son of John and Catharine Martin and attended Linganore High School.

Joshua Martin of Greencastle, Pa., received the Non-resident Academic Scholarship. Martin is the son of Richard and Mary Martin and attended Greencastle Antrim High School.

Amanda McAllister of Hagerstown received the Lillian Compton Scholarship, G. Wesley and Margaret M. Forrester Education Scholarship and Hagerstown Center Scholarship. McAllister is the daughter of Robert and Janet Michael and attended North Hagerstown High School.

Daniel Miller of Thurmont, Md., received the Loats Foundation Scholarship. Miller is the son of Roger and Tonyia Miller and attended Catoctin High School.

William Oxx of New Market, Md., received the Academic Honor Scholarship. Oxx is the son of George and Sandy Oxx and attended Linganore High School.

Corey Shifflett of Greencastle, Pa., received the Non-resident Academic Scholarship. Shifflett attended Waynesboro Area Senior High School.

Noelle Stresewski of Williamsport received the Academic Excellence Scholarship. Stresewski is the daughter of Sandra and Vincent Stresewski and attended Williamsport High School.

Karen Wade of Middletown, Md., received the Academic Excellence Scholarship. Wade is the daughter of Ed and Elaine Wade and attended Frederick Christian Academy.

Adelaide White of Sharpsburg received the University Scholarship. White is the daughter of Tamara and Pat White and attended Boonsboro High School.

Taylor Williams of Walkersville, Md., received the Academic Leadership Scholarship. Williams is the daughter of Keith and Tracey Williams and attended Walkersville High School.

Krista Woodlief of Fayetteville, Pa., received the Non-resident Academic Scholarship. Woodlief is the daughter of Susan and Tim Woodlief and attended Waynesboro (Pa.) Area Senior High School.
