LEWISBURG, W.Va. — Rehan Waheed recently graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
Waheed plans to complete an internship at St. Petersburg (Fla.) General Hospital before entering a physical medicine and rehabilitation program at Tufts University in Boston.
Waheed earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion in 2003 from George Washington University.
Waheed is a 2000 graduate of Saint James School. He is the son of Abdul and Tasneem Waheed of Hagerstown, and is married to Fatema Bukhari.
McHENRY, Md. — Cari Annalee Law of Smithsburg was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Garrett College.
Law is pursuing a degree in adventure sports.
Law is a graduate of Smithsburg High School, and is the daughter of Thomas and Sandra Law.
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Nathan Bonner recently finished his sophomore year at Shippensburg University.
Bonner was named to the dean’s list for the fall and spring semesters with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.8. He is majoring is business management with a concentration in entrepreneurship.
Bonner is a 2009 graduate of Waynesboro (Pa.) Area Senior High School, and is the son of Rick and Angie Bonner of Waynesboro.
KETTERING, Ohio — Kathleen Nicole Yeary of Hagerstown was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Kettering College.
Yeary is majoring in human biology.
Lila Jessica Morales of Williamsport, a student at Kaplan University, recently accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Morales will be honored at Kaplan University’s induction in the fall.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Bethany Garnand of Hagerstown, a junior biology major, recently was inducted into the Pennsylvania Omicron chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta at Lycoming College.
Alpha Epsilon Delta, the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society, is dedicated to the encouragement and recognition of excellence in preprofessional health scholarship, including medicine, dentistry and veterinary.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Shannon J. Delaney of Hagerstown received the West Virginia University Presidential Award for Excellence in Scholarship for the spring semester.
The award recognizes the achievement of earning a perfect 4.0 grade-point -average for the term.
For the upcoming school year, Delaney has been awarded the William Wayt Scholarship within WVU’s Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, where she is studying human nutrition.
Delaney is a 2009 graduate of Smithsburg High School. She is the daughter of Marty and Cindi Delaney.
FROSTBURG, Md. — Christopher James (C.J.) McMurtrie was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Frostburg State University.
McMurtrie is majoring in art and design.
McMurtrie is the son of Kristi and Jim McMurtrie of Hagerstown. He is the grandson of Ruby Anderson of Williamsport, and Pat McMurtrie and Jim McMurtrie, both of Hagerstown.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Lexi Bryan was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Penn State University.
Bryan, an accounting major, is a member of the Smeal College of Business, and holds several leadership positions with Alpha Kappa Psi (professional business fraternity).
Bryan also participates in the annual “Thon,” which is the largest on-campus dance marathon in the world. “Thon” participants raised more than $9 million this past year for the Four Diamonds Fund, which supports cancer research at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
Bryan is traveling to Europe this summer to participate in a Study Abroad program in France.
Bryan is the daughter of Tim and Kendra Bryan of Williamsport.
QUINCY, Mass. — Brooke Suzanne Sword graduated cum laude in three years from Eastern Nazarene College with a Bachelor of Science degree.
