Md. 68 (Lappans Road) will be closed to through traffic at Devil’s Backbone Park effective at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, while state and county projects are under way there.
The streambank stabilization of the roadway along Antietam Creek, within the limits of the park, will necessitate the closure of Md. 68 at that location for approximately 45 days, the county said in a release.
Construction barricades will be placed between Routzahn Road and Printz Road and a detour will be posted to route traffic around the project. The use of Md. 65 & Md. 34 will be required to access locations on either side of the park, the county said.
Further information can be obtained by contacting the project manager, Jim Plummer, at 240-313-2448 or Deputy Director of Public Works Robert Slocum at 240-313-2418.
