Library to offer free foreign language classes

The Friends of the Library organization will offer three free foreign language classes at Williamsport Memorial Library for students entering grades three through six.

A French class will be held June 27 to July 1. German class will be from July 11 to 15. Japanese Culture, the final class, will be July 18 to 22. All classes are from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. daily.

Fun day planned for antique car enthusiasts

The Mason-Dixon Region Automobile Club of America will hold its annual car show Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike.

The show includes a car corral and free flea market (all items are welcome). There will be Model T driving lessons, food and a bake sale.

Registration costs $8 per vehicle and $8 per car corral space at the gate. All cars are welcome. There will be no judging. Dash plaques will be given to the first 75 vehicles registered. Proceeds support the transportation museum at the ag center.

55th reunion to be held by WHS Class of 1956

The Williamsport High School Class of 1956 will hold its 55th reunion on Saturday, July 30, at the Academy Theatre (Potomac Playmakers building) in Hagerstown. The reunion begins at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $30 per person.

WHS classmates from other years also are invited to attend.

PRAY announces movie opportunity

Providing Relief for Autistic Youth has announced a partnership with Leitersburg Cinemas to offer autistic individuals a sensory-friendly showing of "Cars 2" on Wednesday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m.

For this event, the auditorium will have the lights up, the sound turned down, and audience members are invited to get up and walk around, dance, sing, etc.

WHS Class of 1971 plans 40th reunion

The Williamsport High School Class of 1971 is planning its 40-year reunion, to be held at Crazy Horse Restaurant in Hagerstown on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The group has been unable to contact the following individuals: Delsie Clark, Beth Worthington, Linda Shank, Steve Delauter, Gary Durboraw, Thomas Gochenour, James Hutson, K. Daniel Keller, Samuel Miller, Donald Pereschuk, Scott Seitz, David Shank and Guy Varron.
