HAGERSTOWN — An 18-wheel tractor-trailer rig hit an overhanging tree branch next to Hagerstown City Hall on East Franklin Street on Tuesday morning, according to Eric Deike, manager for the Hagerstown Department of Public Works.

Nobody was injured.

Police responded to the incident at 8:45 a.m., a supervisor for Washington County Emergency Services said.

Vehicles hitting tree branches in that area has been a problem, Deike said. Many of them have already been partially snapped because they were hit.

Antietam Tree Services is scheduled to cut down two of the branches later this afternoon, according to Deike.
