Richard Arlington “Dutch” Tedrick, 86, of Hearthside Drive, Falling Waters, W.Va., died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at NMS Healthcare, Hagerstown, Md.

Born May 4, 1925, in Big Pool, Md., he was the son of the late William Carlton and Rhoda Bell Hawbaker Tedrick.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Alkire “Ginny” Tedrick, in 1997.

He was a 1943 graduate of Clear Spring High School, Clear Spring, Md.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II in the South Pacific.

He was a signalman on the Western Maryland Railroad; owner of Tedrick’s Appliance & Gas Co., Williamsport, Md.; co-founder of AC&T in Williamsport; owned and operated the Old Mill Inn at Kemps Mills, Williamsport; and most recently, 21st Century Realty Co. in Florida.

He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, Falling Waters. He served as past treasurer.

He served on the Williamsport town council.

He was past president and treasurer, Marlowe Ruritan Club, Falling Waters. He was a member of BPO 378 Elks, Hagerstown, Exalted Ruler of Elks in North Port, Fla., Mediary Lodge 140 AF&AM, Williamsport, 32nd Degree Mason and Potomac Post 202 American Legion, Williamsport.

He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include sister, Peggy E. Dundus of Hagerstown; sister, Barbara T. Robison and her husband, Bill, of Hagerstown; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Grace Smith.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Catherine Bellows, Ann Weaver and Mary King; and four brothers, W. Carl Tedrick, Robert Tedrick, Leon Tedrick and Buck Tedrick.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends. Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m. by Mediary Lodge 140 AF&AM, Williamsport.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Terri Cofiell officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
