Dairy youth scholarships up for grabs

June 20, 2011

Once again, two $4,000 scholarships are offered to Maryland youth who are enrolled in or have been enrolled in a 4-H/FFA dairy project (all dairy breeds) and are pursuing a four-year degree in any agricultural program at the college of choice.

The Maryland Dairy Scholarships are available to entering college freshmen through entering college seniors.
The scholarships may be won twice, but, applicants must apply each year.

Applications can be obtained by looking on the University of Maryland dairy website or by contacting Arthur and Peggy Johnson at 301-972-8274.

A recent wallet-size photo (head shot only) and an official transcript must accompany the application. Applications must be typed in space allotted using a 12-point font and postmarked no later than July 1 for consideration.

Made possible through the generous donation of a friend of Maryland dairy youth and 4-H, the scholarships have been awarded since 1998 and are presented at the Maryland State Fair during the dairy awards program.
