Hancock Barge Bash

Before the main boat parade, the one-mile bash dash run will be 9 to 10 a.m. Parade entries will be assembled and available for viewing beginning at 10 a.m. at the Western Maryland Rail Trail parking lot and Canal Street. The nautical parade begins at 1 p.m. Hancock. To enter a barge, call 301-678-5622. The cost is $50 for each entry. To register for the run, go to Runners may register on the day of the race. C&O Canal Family Reunion

The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park will host the third annual Canal Family Reunion during the Barge Bash. Storytelling will recall life on the canal; audience members will be invited to share family stories. 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. Little Tonoloway boat ramp, downtown Hancock. Call 301-745-5877.

Pegasus Flight for Cancer

The pilots of the Pegasus Club will fly their model airplanes to raise money for the John Marsh Cancer Center's Patient Assistance Fund. Food will be sold. Free R/C computer simulators will be available. For a donation, anyone can fly one of the airplanes. 5 a.m. to midnight today. Duffields Day
