Red Cross honors local business and volunteers

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —  Individuals, businesses and organizations from the 100-county American Red Cross's Greater Alleghenies Region were honored Tuesday, June 7, at the region's annual meeting in Johnstown.

The awards highlighted blood drive sponsors and volunteers. Thirty-nine awards were presented.

 One of six Community Partnership Awards was given to Chick-fil-A in Hagerstown.

 Government Partnership Awards were given to USCG National Maritime Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.; and Washington County Department of Social Services, Hagerstown.

 One of two Hospital Partnership Awards was given to WVUH-City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.

 One of three Pint Size Heroes Awards was given to South Jefferson Elementary School, Health Choice Ambassadors, Charles Town, W.Va.

 One of four Religious Group Sponsor Awards was given to St. James the Greater Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Charles Town, W.Va.
