HCC students receive U.Md. transfer scholarships

Five students from Hagerstown Community College were recently awarded the Maryland Community College Transfer Scholarship from University of Maryland University College.

HCC graduates receiving this award include Lindsay Febres, of Hagerstown, who graduated with an Associate of Arts in general studies; Sonja Hoover, of Hagerstown, who graduated with an Associate of Science in business; Jaclyne Kartley, of Hagerstown; who graduated with an Associate of Arts in psychology; Dennis Reed, of Hagerstown, who graduated with an Associate of Arts in data processing; and Kaitlyn Ridenour, of Hagerstown; who graduated with Associate of Arts in general studies.

To qualify for this award, students must achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher from one of the 16 community colleges in Maryland, must be pursuing their first bachelor's degree, and must have earned an associate's degree prior to attending UMUC.
