On Friday, June 24, stop by the Memorial Recreation Center (those younger than 12 require parental supervision) from 6 to 8 p.m. for a splash party. For adults, there will be a social at Georgia Boy’s, starting at 8 p.m.
On Saturday, June 25, the day will be filled at Wheaton Park with activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Starting at 1 p.m., there will be music by Supa Dupa Disko. Local bands featuring Out of the Blue and Pham Life will play, starting at 4 p.m. There will be a disco at the Elks Club at 9 p.m.
On Sunday, June 26, there will be a social in Wheaton Park starting at 3 p.m., featuring Kelly Wright and an open mic for “Remember when….”
Donations and school supplies will be accepted.

Dance planned at VFW June 24
The “OTB” is planning a dance Friday, June 24, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the VFW, 70 E Washington St.
Tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Deaconess Day program to be held at church  
Second Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 65 W. North Ave., will host its Deaconess Day program on Sunday, June 26, at 3 p.m.
The theme will be “We Have Come This Far By Faith” presented by guest preacher the Rev. Betty Weedon of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church in Brunswick, Md.
The community is invited.

Book club to meet July 17 for discussion
Ladetra “Dede” Robinson, president of the Sisters in Spirit Book Club, thanks everyone who made it out to the meet and greet last weekend.
The first book discussion will be July 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. for the book “The Perfect Peace” by Daniel Black.
